PCI DSS Security Certification

At Intercam, we maintain a policy of continuous improvement to strengthen the security of your information every day.

Thanks to this, on April 5th, we obtained the PCI DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard) Certification, version 3.2.1, corresponding to the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard.

This standard defines international security controls that protect Payment Card holders’ data during its processing, storage, and/or transmission. Thus, the PCI DSS regulation establishes a standard of protection for consumers, reducing fraud and data breaches within the entire payment ecosystem.

Origin of PCI DSS.

It was born in 2004 through the eorts of major Payment Card brands such as Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, and JCB.

By 2006, these companies created the Payment Card Industry Security Standards Council (PCI SSC), an autonomous council to manage and improve the security of online payments. The PCI Security Standards Council became an international forum that oversees the development, storage, dissemination, and enforcement of the security standards that protect sensitive Customer data.

It is worth noting that, among the four levels of compliance determined by the PCI DSS regulation based on the volume of annual transactions, Intercam is at Level 1, in accordance with the country’s regulations.
